Our 3 and 4-year old both had a good time and required minimal help. This trail is just a mile and a half there and back and takes about an hour to 90 minutes. Borders on private property so be sure you don't trespass. You’ll go through tall grasses/flowers. It’s many trail not only the pillbox very nice and there’s trail for the mountain bikes so all in one and don’t hike it after the rain it’s gonna be so slippery. The trail is primarily used for hiking and is accessible year-round. The first pillbox has a nice view, but definitely make sure you find the second pillbox, which has better views. Dogs are also able to use this trail but must be kept on leash.
Follow the dirt trail and look for the pink ribbons up the hillside. You should see the iconic peace sign on the second pillbox about 10 min after leaving the first. It's a steep climb at the beginning but on a dry day it's easy.
